Omega-6 Fatty Acids Cause Prostate Tumor Cell Growth

According to US Researchers, the rapid increase of omega-6 fatty acids in the western diet could have caused the rise in incidnce of prostate cancer in recent years. Published in the September issue of Carcinogenesis, researchers found that arachidonic acid, an omega-6, introduced to human prostate cells, increased inflammation and abnormal cell growth.

arachidonic acid is found primarily in fatty red meats and organ meats. The human body needs some arachidonic acid, but too much can be damaging. The higher your insulin levels, the more your body is stimulated to make arachidonic acid.
