Hoodia no better than placebo (no surprise here)

A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that the weight management plant hoodia performed no better than pacebo in affecting energy intake or body weight. While the trial was just published, major supplement manufacturers, such as Unliver, have known this for several years, which is why they backed out of a $20 million deal with a major hoodia producer.

Bonnie - I never bought into the hoodia hype. The data, as well as waning consumer demand, is bearing this out.
