When medicine makes you fat

This Wall Street Journal entry is a great example of why staying on certain medication long-term is not the ideal treatment for health issues. It is also a great example of why getting to the root of the problem is paramount.

Prednisone also caused huge weight gains for me. I have inflammatory arthritis, and it especially effects my back and feet. So it is difficult to exercise. I was taking 20 and down to 10 mg for a long time. Then I finally tapered down to 3mg.which was still helping.
I've finally stopped, and I am back to aches in my back and feet. I don't walk the dog. The 3mg was enough to make me comfortable, but I really want to try to take off some of the weight...which of course, will help my back and feet. Such frustrations!!!
I've stopped dairy, wheat, sugar, and yeast. My feet are a better, but my back is still bad.
I'm frustrated.
