A new study from American Journal of Clinical Nutrition examined the associations of omega-3 intake on risk of colorectal adenomatous and hyperplastic polyps. Marine-derived omega-3 fatty acids were associated with reduced risk of colorectal adenomas in women only. Dietary intake of α-linolenic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) was associated with an increased risk of hyperplastic polyps in men.
